Harriet Does Blackburn Proud at Miss England
Miss Blackburn, Harriet Noakley, took part in the Miss England Finals earlier this week and was a credit to Blackburn.
The Finals, consisting of 61 girls, were held over two days at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham on Monday and Tuesday.
Harriet took part in the Welcome Party, an Eco Fashion Show and Talent round on the Monday evening.
In the Eco Fashion Show the 61 girls had all created their own outfits from either recycled, re-used or ethically sourced materials.
Harriet was placed in the Top 12 in the “Miss England’s Got Talent” section after the judges were impressed with her Horse Riding skills on DVD.
On the Tuesday Harriet took part in the main event which consisted of an opening scene wearing a specially created Miss England Dress created by leading fashion designer Karen Karmody, an Evening Wear section and a Sports Wear Finale.
Harriet closely missed out on a Top 15 place in a fiercely contested Final.
Alize Lily Mounter was crowned Miss England in a ceremony which was streamed live online.
Harriet said of her experience;
“I was delighted to be given the opportunity to represent Blackburn on such a big occasion”
“It was an incredible experience that I’ll remember for the rest of my life”
“I’ve made so many new friends from all over the country, all the girls were so lovely”
“I’m looking forward to the rest of my year as Miss Blackburn now and hope to get involved with as many things in the area as possible”
